GERRIT DOES KNIGHTED!
Monday, 05 May 2008

Image This news bit is coming from our good friend Gerrit Does over in Holland. Gerrit was one of the first people in Europe to get MCS on the map over there. One of the criteria was winning 3 World Championships Manufacturer Trohies of which one was with MCS BICYCLES! So I thought that I would share this email that I got from him...

Dear friends in BMX,
Something very special happened to me last Friday and I am more then proud to tell you in short my story. Fridaymorning April 25th I was waiting for Louis Vrijdag (former President of UCI BMX department) to go together on our motorcycles to a BMX race in Weiterstadt - Germany. The Höpping family is organising this Old Skool and National event and the European Championships next week. At the same track the Worlds will be organised in 2010, so we wanted to see this new track! I also wanted to go there to promote our Old Skool of BMX Reunion in Slagharen, October 3 -5 th 2008.

Anyway, I was ready to go and waiting for Louis to arrive. We had planned to leave at about 10.00 hours. Then suddenly a group of 14 people came into my garden in nice clothing and suites including Louis. I thought, what the HACK is this !!! Right away their spokesman told me...

BMX on NBC!
Monday, 05 May 2008

NBC LogoRecently BMX Racing was featured on NBC's Today show. It appears as though BMX Racing is finally getting the notoriety that it so desperately needs. With BMX being added to the Olympic line-up, we could hopefully see a surge in sport awareness!

It should be noted that the NBL and ABA did a great job in getting this project on the air!

Click the link to see what you missed or a nice recap of what you already saw.

MCS EUROPE UPDATE!
Tuesday, 25 March 2008

1st Redline Dutch Top competition –Luijksgestel, The Netherlands.

Bad weather all weekend but a sunny race on Sunday after all. The MCS Europe team was off the chain the past weekend. Placing both riders Montgomery “8-ball”Bregita and Zahur “Z-man” Fraai in the main event. Results: A bad start kept 8-ball from taking the gold after dominating the whole 30-39 cruiser class for the day and crossed the finish line in 4th place. While Z-man was OTG (on the gas) taking the win on his first race of the season.

We would like to thank our main sponsor MCSBICYCLES.COM & our co-sponsors Renthal handlebars, Verlu bike shop and Paul’s Boutique for their support.

Yours Truly,

Z. Fraai

MCS FACTORY TEAM STATE SERIES UPDATE!
Thursday, 06 March 2008

Well, we are more than halfway through the Florida State Series. After a bad start to the season, the MCS Factory Team is slowly getting back into form. The second stop on the tour was at Coral Springs BMX. We had a really good day on Saturday finishing first in team. Sunday however saw us tie J&R Bicycles for the win and coming up short on the tie-breaker to finish second. The next stop was Highlands BMX. Again, we had a good day on Saturday tieing with J&R, but again we lost the tie-breaker. Sunday... well Sunday wasn’t a good day at all. Everyone came out healthy, but we didn’t get a “keeper” in the team competition. Jacksonville is the next Qualifier, hopefully we will get a couple good scores there!

Individually, everyone is riding pretty good. Most notably Tucker Rice and Cory Watts. These two guys have been destroying their classes. Each one taking the wins in both of their respective classes, Tucker in Expert and cruiser and Cory in Expert and Open. Staci Woodrum won on Saturday of Highlands, but she’s having a hard time finding the top step on Sundays. Saturday at Coral Springs she was a victim of a blatant torpedo move that netted her a 7th for the day. Our Pros Jonathan Villa and Raul Gomez are battling every lap. Villa has been on the podium each race , but can’t seem to make it to the top step. Gomez has been showing that Vet Pros can hang with the youngsters making the mains on both Saturdays. That brings us to Petey Peters. Petey has the speed to be up front, but needs to find the same fire that some of his competitors have to give that little bit more. We have all the faith in him to do it, as Saturdays main in Coral Springs showed pulling him in a first place finish. Bryan Kipp has found his way back to the BMX track now that wrestling is over. It was good to have him back and I’m sure it wont be long before he gets back to form with some wins. Dean and Perry DeVido have been at both qualifiers. Dean made both mains in Springs scoring a 6th and a 4th. Perry just moved to expert and still needs to find his groove, but still made the mains in Springs. Highlands was a little rough on the duo with Dean making the final on Saturday. Jeff DeVido raced in Coral Springs were he finished 4th on Sunday, he wasn’t in Highlands for that qualifier.

European championships / Rounds 3 & 4 - Zwolle, Netherlands

These rounds were held indoor aswell because of the early start of the BMX season and the bad weather outside.
MCS Europe Team was this time represented only by Montgomery "8ball" Bregita who did a great job placing himself both days into the main event.

Results: Saturday 5th place & Sunday 6th place in the 29-39 cruiser class.
Because of a wrist injury Zahur "Z-Man" Fraai couldn't participate in this event but will be back on track some time soon.
Stay tuned for more results from the MCS Europe Team in the near future.

We would like to thank our main sponsor MCSBICYCLES.COM & all our co-sponsors for their support.

WOODRUM AND RICE WIN PRESIDENTS CUP!
Friday, 18 January 2008

At the annual NBL Christmas Classic, held in Columbus, OH the first day of racing is a competition between the State Plate Title holders from all over the USA. Virtually every state is represented at this event. It’s some of the best racing of the weekend due mostly in part to the enthusiasm put out by each state to root for their riders. Noise makers like cow bells and whistles are the norm, with each state trying to out due the other. With over 200 motos, the racing action is pretty good too!

MCS Bicycles had three riders racing in this event, Cory Watts, Staci Woodrum and Tucker Rice. Each of these riders is a favorite to win any time they are on the gate. Staci and Tucker came through with flying colors. Each winning their age class and Tucker also won cruiser, doubling it up for the day! Cory on the other hand crashed a couple of times on practice day and tried to race, but after his first couple of motos decided to hang it up for the day.

When all the scores were added up Michigan took home top honor, followed by Florida and Ohio. This event is always a good time. If you have never been, I highly recommend it, it’s a good time!
