On December 5th, we set-up shop at the Okeeheelee BMX track in West
Palm Beach, Florida. Basically, we wanted to show the local crowd our
2009 Complete bikes and a few of the new colors that we have for our
frames and bars.
We also had some of our Factory Team riders on hand to answer
questions, hand out stickers and sign some autographs. Overall, it was
a pretty fun, laid back night.
We want to thank TC and the rest of the
Okeeheelee crew for having us, I think everyone that came out had a
good time.
See you at the next race!

I have personally known Stephen for over 6 years. He is one of the nicest guys on the circuit. A real "do anything for you" kind of guy. We would like to spread the word and help the cause as much as we can. Stay Strong Stephen!
Real Sports Correspondent, Mary Carillo talks with BMX Star Stephen Murray about the extraordinary strides he's made in rehabilitation and the setbacks.
Stephen Murray’s Journey. Heading into the 2007 Dew Action Sports Tour, former BMX dirt jumping star Stephen Murray’s back was against the wall. After setting the action sports world ablaze in 2001 with his gold medal-winning performance at the X-Games, his career lost momentum. As the bills piled up, Murray sought to reverse his fortunes with a huge performance in June 2007, only to suffer a catastrophic accident that left him a quadriplegic.
His family open up to Mary Carillo on a very personal level to discuss what the last 17 months has been like, and what struggles the family has been faced with. Friends & fellow riders, Heath Pinter, Luke Parslow & John Jennings discuss the absence of medical insurance and why it is so difficult to get coverage as an action sports athlete. What does the future hold for Stephen? How does his manage his household with 2 young sons? We visit the manufacture where he & Kimaire Hunt, have developed a “Stay Strong Apparel Line”. Stay Strong, a term once said to Stephen from fans and well wishers across the World, now becomes words to live by.
Air Date: Tuesday November 25 thru December 16 - HBO & On Demand 10:00pm

We are very excited to announce that we have a new sponsor, DNA Energy Drink ! “This is the best tasting energy drink that I have ever had!” said Brian Fell, Marketing Director for MCS Bicycles. “I am very excited about what the future holds with our partnership with DNA.” he added. DNA which is located in Boca Raton, Florida is super close to us here in South Florida and they share the same type of enthusiasm for racing which is clearly evident in their support of motocross with Butler Brothers Racing, also located in South Florida. Combine that with the other action sports individuals they are involved with Freestyle BMX, Skateboarding and Wake Skate and DNA is sure to be the next big thing! DNA is available at Circle K, 7-Eleven and finer stores all throughout Florida. So stop in and try it out, you’ll be glad you did!

This past weekend kicked off the 2009 Florida State Series with a qualifier Miami South BMX in Miami, Florida. The race drew about 115 moto’s each day even with the threat of a possible hurricane coming from the south. The weather held out though and we only saw a couple of sprinkles all weekend long, not enough to even slow things down at all.
The MCS Factory Team was on hand to do some damage! Raul Gomez has made the switch back to amateur status and scored his first qualifier perfect of the new year, as did Tucker Rice in 11 Expert and Petey Peters in 19-25 Expert. Tucker had to settle for two 3rd’s in cruiser and Petey brought home a 4th and a “snowman” in 16 and over open. Bryan Kipp has seen better weekends taking home a fifth the first day and a DNQ on Sunday. Jeff DeVido got a 7th on day one and followed it up with a 4th on Sunday. Perry DeVido has bragging rights over his older brother Dean with a 7th and a 5th over two DNQ’s. |

Coming back early from injury is never a promising thing to do but Dean knew that he wanted to race in the Canadian ABA Grands race for sure. Broken ribs are not enough to hold him back! Here is the report from Dean Toews our main man in Canada... Day 1- There were approximately 120 motos and my class (35 and over expert) had two full gates. The competition was stiff and ABA was running a 2 moto transfer system. You needed to place 1rst or 2nd to qualify and you only get two chances. I felt a lot of pressure to perform and on day 1, I qualified first round with a first place. In this regard I felt relieved, as I was able to watch my competition for the next round of qualifiers. Come main time on Day 1, I got the draw of lane 7, which was an outside lane and really put me in a hard spot to get out front. I got a less than perfect gate and ended up placing 5th in the main. |
