This past weekend Rounds 5 & 6 of the Florida State Series was held at Okeeheelee BMX, in West Palm Beach, Florida. There was a much a lot of buzz circulating about in regard to the new track design. Word had spread all over Florida about the track changes and I believe that nobody walked away disappointed. The new layout is MUCH more “Pro Friendly.” The Okeeheelee crew lead by Mitch Horne and TC Cross did an amazing job in the layout and preparation of the course. The new layout features two pro straights running parallel to the amateur straights. For a good look at the track both normal view and a crazy helmet-cam clip log on too www.flbmx.com. Oh yeah, “Flat Stanley” made a guest appearance in West Palm Beach!

This past weekend we headed to Oldsmar, Florida for the ABA Gator Nationals. We were all pretty excited to be hitting up this race. Finally, we were able to go, it has been a couple years since we have been able to attend due to scheduling conflicts. Pulling in on Thursday, the track was a buzz with excitement. There were people everywhere! There was a Supercamp going on, trailers being placed into their spots and even a few Elite Men wondering about. This was going to be a good race!

This is a subject that hit very close to home for me. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Because they caught it early enough, she was able to beat it. It was not easy, but it can be done. If you follow motocross and/or Supercross, you may already know that A3 (Anaheim 3) was dedicated to the support of breast cancer. Troy Lee Designs in conjunction with the Keep A Breast Foundation teamed up to do something pretty unique. We want to do our part to help out... Spread the word!

I think we can all agree that winter this year has been a real problem, freezing rain and snow have been balling it up all over the USA. The ABA dodged a bullet out west in Chula Vista, CA. Now it was the NBL's turn in McDonough, GA, The Southern Charm National was not looking to be pleasant at all, unless you are a bobsledder, Practice was canceled on Friday due to 6 inches of snow. Saturday was looking better and they were able to get the 68 moto race going at 4pm. Sunday morning was delayed a little as the track crew got the course thawed out... Literally. The wet ground turned back into ice overnight. Despite the miserable conditions the NBL was able to pull off the race and Petey was able to snag two perfects on his hunt to getting the skinny digit come September.
Next stop... Oldsmar, FL for the ABA gator National!

The MCS Factory Team is psyched to announce that we will be using VANS Shoes. "VANS is a really cool lifestyle brand that fits our image completely!" said Brian Fell. MCS Bicycles Marketing Director/Team Manager. "VANS is a brand that has been around forever and they are a welcome addition to our program." he added. The MCS Factory Team will be sporting their casual shoes off the track and their new clipless shoe on the track. Be sure to check them out at the next race!

The first day of racing at the NBL Christmas Classic National is called the Presidents Cup. Basically, it is a State versus State competition. The classes are the same as that of a State series race. Points are accumulated by main event finishes. The State that accumulates the best 10 scores, including bonus points for higher rider counts, wins. This year Florida came in first, Ohio was second and Kentucky third. The MCS Factory team (those that were there, anyway... LOL!) did their part with Amanda Geving winning Elite Women, Raul Gomez winning both class and cruiser and Tucker Rice winning class and cruiser. Cory Watts was winning but got passed down the last straight letting his big cup dreams shatter, LOL!
